I would like to help you, Jim but I'm afraid I don't understand the question?

OK, Julie. In Microsoft's "Wordpad" editor, one has the option to
center the document in the middle of the page ("Rich" Text).
To be honest, with you, most of my poems are created, that way
(Form is important.). I've never raised the question, before,
because I didn't think it would be all that important to the rest
of my fellow poets -- and, your own editor might come with its own
constraints.
On the other hand, perhaps I need to play around with
it, a little more?
Hope this sheds a little more light on things, for you.

As a follow-up, Julie -- If you'd like to view "SETI Sun-Set", as
my poetry groups, (There are two, here.) have received it, just
transfer/retype it, using the "Rich" format (or, its equivalent).
Let me know what you think!
Remember, it won't be transferable (as far as I know it) into
Dan's Poetry Corner -- just as a print-out, or for mailing, on-line.
ps (apologies),
All lines are double-spaced, except for triple-spacing between stanzas,
and between the title and the first line of the poem.

The only place I can read Seti sun-set is here. I wouldn't know how to open it in WordPad, unless you send it to me through Email of course. As for the lay out of a poem in a word document, sometimes I center them in the middle of the page or in the bottom right corner but most of the time I just leave them in the upper left corner.

Julie -- I know that email is discouraged, in Seti; however, if you sent me
your address (via private message?), I'd be glad to mail you an attachment.

Faithfull strangers
Peaceful living is
an understatement.
God's creations
die underrated.
Frightened of the ones
who claim to be übermensch.
Changing manners
won't fade behaviour.
Animals outclass
their human superiors.
They won't lie and
they live and die
and will go to heaven.
Faithful strangers,
all God's creatures.
We're trying to be
one in society.
What we need is
to give our love.
Surely we'll try
to get us above
the clouds, for
they are the gate
to His Paradise.

Perhaps, my fellow poets have received a poem that causes them to
scratch their heads. Here's a response, to one of them. . .
(Hopefully, it's not already been entered.)
;o)
Mind-Twister
The words from poem, which you sent --
the neurons in my mind, have bent.
A shrink might help, with words for me --
prescribing Shakespear's poetry.
And, now the rest is up to you --
to right a wrong, with verbal tool.
A composition, having sense --
to bring me up to present tense.
Perhaps, some synesthesia --
for curing of amnesia.
But, any metaphor, will do --
mixed tropes in oxymoron stew.
My kingdom, for a hearse, he said --
to lay vile words, in quiet bed.

Silence
I don't know
what you are feeling
what's going on deep inside.
I don't know
if I should talk, scream
or not say anything at all.
I don't know
what the meaning is
of that face you make
I cannot read the signals
from your eyes.
I don't know
what it is that you need
and if I could, or even try
to supply in that.
I never knew
that silence
had the strength
to bind my hands.
I never knew
that it would
take a rock
to break the silence.

We fly
Whispered sounds,
that comfort
and soothe
the soul and
float softly
into our minds.
The words,
wrapped around
the heart,
sizzle into
our nerves,
warming our body.
Thoughts
contain the feelings
and slide them
into our own hearts.
We fly...

How Will We Dance?
If we are disbanded,
how will we dance?
Two bands, at a distance,
each playing for one.
Our shadows for partners,
which isn't much fun.
*
Palmettos and blue skies . . .
red leaves fall from gray.
And, duckies, poor duckies --
cannot fly away.

Love is like water
This is how it seems to me,
your heart will show you the way
to the place where you want to be.
For a while you can ignore
what your heart says
but it will remind you to it
each and every day.
And yes, I also know
that it's sometimes
impossible to do
but love in your heart
is like water,
it always finds a way through.

Today
Between a thousand yesterdays
and a million tomorrows,
there is only one today
and I will not let it pass
without remembering you...

Kiss me good bye.
give me that last
red rose on my grave.
I'm leaving my love,
give me that last
kiss to be brave
kiss me good bye
so I can hope
to kiss you hello
I'm leaving my love,
so one last time
kiss me to life
Kiss me good bye
send me on my way
with love to take away

Use my arms to hide
Take my heart
and it will shine for you.
All the roads you have to walk,
I will be there too.
Take my hand,
I'll be by your side.
Trust me when you're tired,
It will be alright.
When it rains
and the sun fades away,
you can use my arms to hide,
don't ever dismay.
Keep your lovely smile
that enlightens your way.
Know my heart that you carry
is always there to stay.

Onto the sea
Onto the sea
I sailed my boat
and prayed that I
would stay afloat.
From dawn till dusk.
From dusk till dawn.
In search of love
I drifted on.
What happened then,
I don't recall.
I think it was
a sudden squall.
For when I awoke,
I thought I died.
In the sight of an angel
at my side.
But lucky for me,
that was not true,
for I found love
and love was you.
