I Want My Cake

I want my cake,
and, eat it, too.

The trouble is --
there's not much left,
for you.

Having caught a little gentle flack from my friends, here, I'd like to
say that "I Want My Cake" is a social commentary, with global
intent.

Any cake eaten, by yours truly, would be gladly shared
with one, and all, of my Seti-ites.

An Oldie to fit my mood.

Old One

While sitting on a mountain
And looking to the west
With evening sunset glowing
On dew upon your chest
The chilling breezes touch your skin
The fear is gone away
You've made your peace and done your lot
The darkness falls to stay
You look into the stars once more
To say your final prayer
Nature gives the incense
To lift it from your heart
There are no more regrets
You never even knew it when you left

Count your garden by the flowers
Never by the leaves that fall
Count your days by the golden hours
Don't remember clouds at all
Count your years with smiles, not
tears
Count your age by friends, not years

As long as I can dream

As long as I can dream,
As long as I can think,
As long as I have a memory,
I will love you.

As long as I have eyes to see
And ears to hear
And lips to speak.
I will love you.

As long as I have a heart to feel,
A soul stirring within me,
An imagination to hold you.
I will love you.

As long as there is time,
As long as there is love,
And as long as I have
a breath to speak your name.
I will love you.

Butterfly

Can you see the colors,
Can you hear the sound,
Do you see the beauty,
They're all around.

It's the butterfly effect
A pretty bird sings
And when you look into my eyes
It's like I'm flying on its wings

THE DOUBTER'S PRAYER

by: Anne Bronte (1820-1849)

TERNAL Power, of earth and air!
Unseen, yet seen in all around,
Remote, but dwelling everywhere,
Though silent, heard in every sound;

If e'er thine ear in mercy bent,
When wretched mortals cried to Thee,
And if, indeed, Thy Son was sent,
To save lost sinners such as me:

Then hear me now, while kneeling here,
I lift to thee my heart and eye,
And all my soul ascends in prayer,
OH, GIVE ME--GIVE ME FAITH! I cry.

Without some glimmering in my heart,
I could not raise this fervent prayer;
But, oh! a stronger light impart,
And in Thy mercy fix it there.

While Faith is with me, I am blest;
It turns my darkest night to day;
But while I clasp it to my breast,
I often feel it slide away.

Then, cold and dark, my spirit sinks,
To see my light of life depart;
And every fiend of Hell, methinks,
Enjoys the anguish of my heart.

What shall I do, if all my love,
My hopes, my toil, are cast away,
And if there be no God above,
To hear and bless me when I pray?

If this be vain delusion all,
If death be an eternal sleep,
And none can hear my secret call,
Or see the silent tears I weep!

Oh, help me, God! For thou alone
Canst my distracted soul relieve;
Forsake it not: it is thine own,
Though weak, yet longing to believe.

Oh, drive these cruel doubts away;
And make me know, that Thou art God!
A faith, that shines by night and day,
Will lighten every earthly load.

If I believe that Jesus died,
And waking, rose to reign above;
Then surely Sorrow, Sin, and Pride,
Must yield to Peace, and Hope, and Love.

And all the blessed words He said
Will strength and holy joy impart:
A shield of safety o'er my head,
A spring of comfort in my heart.

Dreamer

I am a dreamer but when I
wake
You can't break my spirit,
it's my dreams you take.
And as you move on, remember
me.
Remember us and all we used to
be...

A leaf meant to fall

I've waited so long.
Why did I ever think
you'd come back?
I'm still waiting.
But I'll keep on dreaming.

My colour is losing hold.
I'm a leaf meant to fall
into caught up greed.
I don't dare to let go.
Scared to fall,
afraid to break.
Into a thousand pieces.
So I'll keep on dreaming.

When it's full moon
and the stars shape my face,
when you stare at a fallen leaf...
First full of life and colour.
Now dead and insignificant.
Will you remember me?
Or did you forget me long ago?

Beauty

You're so beautiful...
So wonderful...

I can't miss you.
I swear that's true.

I can't even believe you were mine...
You're so beautiful.
But everything's just fine...
So wonderful...

I wish you were here next to me.
Then I could see

That sparkle in your eyes.
I will tell you no lies.

I can't...

Resist your tender lips.
I put my arms around your hips.

And pull you closer...
You become the air I breathe.
With every inch you come closer...
For you, I'll bleed.

I'm sure
This love is pure
This love is the cure...

I will see
You're so beautiful.
You're here with me.
So wonderful...

Julie -- May you experience healing, today, or someday. Easier said, than
done, but will say it, anyway.

If I was real
would you give more
than the fluttering
of butterflies?

If I was real
would you explore
the depth
of our loving?

If I was real
would you ignore
the song
of the lark?

If I was real
would you deplore
the bonds
of the past?

If I was real
would your lore
place me
at your side?

But I'm not real
I'm just a score
of words
on your screen.

This is life

The first day of my life was special
The day I opened my eyes to the world
I grew up and I discovered more and more
This beautiful world with so much in it
I still discover things every day
Love, pain, happiness and sadness
Every day is different and has another soul
Another meaning, another experience
It is great to live, but there are obstacles
You have to survive these on your own
You got to know yourself, who you are
You have to develop, who you want to be
You first have to love yourself
Before you can love others
When you find the love you need
You can survive every single day

I want to share these beautiful lyrics by PJ Harvey with you people...

The Dancer

He came riding fast like a phoenix out of fire flames
He came dressed in black with a cross bearing my name
He came bathed in light and the splendor and glory
I can't believe what the Lord has finally sent me

He said dance for me, fanciulla gentile
He said laugh a while, I can make your heart feel
He said fly with me, touch the face of a true God
And then cry with joy at the depth of my love

'Cause I prayed days, I've prayed nights
For the Lord just to send me home some sign
I've looked long, I've looked far
To bring peace to my black and empty heart

My love will stay till the river bed run dry
And my love last long as the sunshine blue sky
I love him longer as each damn day goes
The man is gone and heaven only knows

"Cause I've cried days, I've cried nights
For the Lord just to send me home some sign
Is he near? Is he far?
Bring peace to my black and empty heart
So long day, so long night
Oh Lord be near me tonight
Is he near, is he far?
Bring peace to my black and empty heart.

In a bottle

Took all my pain from the past
Put it in a bottle that I properly closed
So it stays there for ever and more

Almost ready to say my past goodbye
I took the bottle with my past
I drew back and let it fly

Before the bottle touched the water
It went miles across the sky
And now it will always go with the flow of the river
Till the river runs dry
