Greetings,

Woohoo!!!! In just under 12 hours my RAC went from the low 1200s to the mid 1600s! :) 1656 is the highest my RAC has ever been.

@Highlander:
-[ snip ]-

Siran: look at my compis, running also two with 2 days cache, i like a short turnaround-time.
NNT very rare in use, only if boinc is to optimistic what i can crunch.

I looked at you attached PCs. The i7, with 4 cores and hyper-threading gives you a virtual 8 CPUs to crunch with. My WinXP Pro box is a Core 2 Duo with 2 cores and no hyper-threading. In essence, with just those to compared, you have 4 times the crunching power I do.

Your second PC is an AMD, a CPU brand I have never used. My second is a P4 with hyper-threading running Linux and no Opt apps. Virtual even match there.

Add to that, you have GPU on both machines. I do not. 2 up'ed me there.

I could upgrade my Win box by putting in a Quad core since I have the LGA architecture. No hyper-threading that I could find though. I'd love to go i7, but that would entail replacing my MB and memory as well, something I cannot afford right now.

The bottom line is that we all do what we can with what we can afford. :) Some can do, some can do better. I do have the perfect full tower case for an i7 screamer. Maybe I should save my pennies and build me a new cruncher. :) I could always install BOINC on my Linux laptop, but it is so under-powered. Hmmmm... Maybe I should check its specs. ;)

Keep up the great crunching, Highlander. Maybe some day I'll be able to match you in crunching power. :)

Keep on BOINCing...! :)

[edit]
OMG!!! i7 980X 6 core with hyper-threading. $1100 (CPU only)! Kit: $3700 (after rebate from TigerDirect). Now I'm drooling... ;)

Greetings,

Well, it looks like the target date for my becoming a SETI millionaire has moved up to May 22. I originally figured about the first 2 weeks of July.

I am just over 1K of hitting the big 900K though. All due to my RAC staying near or above 1600! Woohoo! :)

Keep on BOINCing...! :)

Now #125 in my country.
Just passed Jarod (Speedy) as well. Won't be for long though as he has a i7 computer build coming.

Well, I've made it to #2 in the list of single-host S@H crunchers with my Q9450. I was expecting it to be #1 but then the prodigals returned and I will be overtaken before I manage to reach that spot so I've accepted that I've max'd out and have switched some cycles back over to CPDN again.
