Does it use fossil fuels as the energy source (natural gas or fuel oil)?

It can use Natural Gas or even BiosGas. The big deal is the reaction chamber needs to be very hot. (I think one place I read around 1500 Celcius.) But the amount of fuel needed to produce that kind of heat, which in turn allows the BloomBox to produce power, is significantly less than the amount required by the current infrastructure to produce the same amount of power. This also applies to the CO2 emissions. Even though it currently does use a fossil fuel (Natural Gas) in most installations, it produces significantly less emissions than your power company currently does to produce the same amount of energy.

I believe it was actually in the 60 minutes video that they mention the E-Bay installation was expecting to convert over to BioGas soon.

It has been looked at as to weather it's worth while and you can find the review here.

If only to make energy supplies more affordable again. I have read of so many people going cold this Winter as they simply can't afford to keep up with the high energy bills.
