I have a dell 1525 inspiron with Win 7 64 bit and ATI x1400 graphics card and when the srcreensaver runs the screen blinks. I have tried different projects and the result is the same. Any ideas?

I found the solution to the problem. It is the driver associated with the video card. If I uninstall the driver and use windows vga driver the screensaver works.
The only downside is that the display does not look very good. So I went back to the ATI driver so no Boinc for me.

You can still use BOINC, but do not have to use the BOINC screensaver.

BOINC will continue to run just fine without it.

The screen saver is only an added function for pretty display, but it by no means is required to run the science apps. In fact, most serious crunchers never use the screen saver anyway.

you are talking about lunatics optimized app.

They now have a unified installer that takes all the work out of it for you. just google "lunatics unified installer"

I don't think he is, I think he's talking about the Seti Classic command line version. Which no longer exists.

Stargate, if you do not want to run the screen saver, go to your Windows desktop properties, Screen saver, change the actual screen saver from BOINC to (None). The screen saver is not necessary to run Seti under BOINC.
