Has someone just opened the taps? Four WUs just flew out of my 'second' PC, with no hiccups - within minutes of starting S@H. Nice going.

@ Eric,

Lovely work on the uploads and downloads (please tell us the story when things settle down - time for another blog, perhaps?)

On a serious note, there's a report of a significant number of validate errors on host 5161387. I suspect the old problem of reporting too soon after upload, with everything desparately scrabbling to catch up. Could you run the 'reset validation state' script later today, when the rush has died down, please?

I do hope that posting to this thread slows down massively so that this post from Richard doesn't get buried...

No, I never said anything about complaining, so please don't add anything in...

err... shouldn't the forum database be on a separate subsystem to the main db?

Not if you want your stats and SETI 'birthday' shown under your avatar.

Your posts are 'attached' to your BOINC account - ergo at least some of the work has to happen in the same database.

Nice work on the fixes. The project has run out of work now but I've been able to upload several hundred workunits tonight. Result, and Thanks!

Many thanks to you, Eric, that has adjusted all!
Transfer of results of calculation (has collected more than 1500) has gone.
It is a little more, also would go deadline.

Well, yes, but they are read-only WRT to the fora, and could be obtained from a replica.

At first glance, it doesn’t seem that difficult to remove dependency from the main db. It would allow the fora to continue during maintenance work on the main db, but without some of this live info.

This is the first I've heard of any rumor like that. I'll wait until I hear something official about it. I really doubt it though.

Matt's still on board, but we're all a little overworked today, so he may not post tech news today (even though he's probably still working right now).
