Since SETI@Home and Astropulse get all their data from the Arecibo Telescope, it's a particularly sad day in the radio astronomy community...

It certainly is a sad day.

R.I.P. Mr. Gordon

Also Einstein@home gets data from Arecibo for its Arecibo Binary Pulsars program. We Einstein crunchers participate too.

That is sad news, indeed.

Without William E. Gordon's telescope design, I wouldn't be here, processing radio signals from Arecibo in a search for extraterrestrial life.

Hats off to a great man who still lives, somewhere out there...

So long Bill, 'Restae en Pachem'! Thanx for all the tips on building a home Radio Telescope. Hope you hook up with Carl out there.

Condolences to all family and friends and the entire Astronomy community. What great accomplishments, what a great loss to us all!

True True True. In his honor, we must build a new telescope in the Meteor Crater in Arizona!
