I HAVE A PROBLEM AND I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS THE CORRECT WAY FOR TO SHOW MY PROBLEM....

I HAVE A DEDICATED PC USED FOR BOINC AND I WANT TO DOWNLOAD "WORK UNITS" FOR AT LEAST ONE WEEK (BECAUSE MY INTERNET CONNECTION IS ATTACHED TO MY DAIRY USE NOTEBOOK), BUT ALWAYS I GOT TO DOWNLOAD FOR ONE DAY OR PERHAPS TWO ONES, BUT NOTHING MORE.

WHICH IS MY PROBLEM? I CHANGED THE SETI CONFIGURATION SEVERAL TIMES, BUT ALWAYS I GET THE SAME RESULTS.... WILL IT BE POSSIBLE TO GET MY PURPOSE (OR IT IS JUST A CRAZY IDEA)?

TKS.

Please unlock the caps (YELLING). It is considered rude.

Settings
Computer is connected to the Internet about every to 7 days.
Maintain enough work for an additional 1 or 2 days.

This is not foolproof as Boinc takes a little while for it to adjust to new settings. Also, it depends on the due date of the WU you receive.

Boinc primary rule is to not give work if it might not be return on time. WU with short due dates can cause problems. That is two connection periods (in this case 14 days). It also takes into account (and learns over time) how much time the computer is on and available to do the work in calculating how much to get.

Why don't you get more tasks? Because your BOINC client doesn't ask for them or because the SETI or Rosetta servers don't send any?

If the latter, you could attach to a third project to get more tasks downloaded.

If the client just doesn't ask for new work, did you check your local preferences for different cache sizes? If in doubt, click the Clear button to reinstate the online preferences.

Hi, please, do not worry, 'new' WU's will be sent, but it can take some time.
Are you (still) using your 'normal' BOINC preferences which can be set local(host) or on your WEB account.
The whole SETI community wants Work Units and your computer won't die of starvation, relax, take it easy, don't make the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy . . . ;)
