Does my use of the 'F' bomb offend you, fellow Seti folks?

An honest question.

I use it liberally in daily conversation. Not that it makes is right or wrong......it just comes naturally to me.....
Learned it mostly in the truck stop I worked in when I was 16yo........
Ir's just another verb to me.......or a noun, or and adjective.....LOL.

Multi purpose word, it is.

I never considered it to be anything other than mod fodder. Really. If I am truly ignorant in that respect, speak up. I need to know it if this is not acceptable to the rest of my soul mates here.

This just really never got my undies in a bundle until Robert made a point of it.......really.

If it really bothers most of you here, as Arlo said, I will try to abstain.

But I suspect few of you would know that quote either.

I can curse with the best.

I believe we all come here to exchange ideas on a level that expresses some degree of thought and respect.
The use of the F bombs indicates disregard for the rules of decorum and a disregard for the sensitivities of others.

Monty Python give a most beautiful explanation and demonstration of that most versatile of words.

In certain places, it certainly does seem to give an air of camaraderie or of authority.

It's also vulgar and useless and a sign of drunkenness or that whatever discussion has degenerated "down the tubes/pan"...


In my opinion, there's no need and no place for that on these forums.

No need to invoke any arbitrary "kiddie friendly" for that. There's just no need for such "gutter silliness".


Aside: Also, in my view, the best moderation is peer pressure from one's fellow denizens. Just follow the decorum shown in other posts.

Usually no, but that is dependent upon the tone and context as is the case for any exchange.

Although there might be no offence taken, I do mentally label the user as an "F-word" user which is then lumped together with various other traits common with other such users from my experiences.

I've made mention to you Mark that the F bomb is a cop out for actually saying what you mean. Much like in a Tarantino movie, Its a self limiting thought process. I use the word liberally myself but don't type it out. I have a large enough vocabulary that I don't need to resort to the bottom of the barrel to make a point know. Though the word is useful in pr0n movies it is most inappropriate at a Chucky Cheeses. I'll give you the same advice I gave before. pretend you mother(if in spirit only), the Dali Lama, your priest, and classroom full of kidergarteners is all sitting with you and reading what you type. if you think they'll be offended then just don't type it in.

I am working on it.
But, if you have not noticed, my vocabulary is rather wide ranging too.
Sometimes, you just have to resort to the gutter to contact some folks.

Or sometimes, that's just where one feels comfortable.
I gave up long ago trying to appease others just to fit their sensibilities.
That dog don't hunt here no more.

I WILL try to respect other's standards however.
This is not just MY litterbox. And I realize I need to at least attempt to deal with that.

I don't mince words much when I am on a roll.
So hide in Chucky Cheese if it makes you feel safe.
I won't bother you there.

I'll tell you like my Therapist told me about 15 years ago. You need to start feeling less comfortable.
