this is entirely up to your "wingman". Each WU's must be validated with a second persons results. It all depends on the size of your cache and if your wingman bails out on the search. If you run a small cache you'll return work quickly and you get to wait on your wingman. A large cache and your wingman waits on you. If your wingman fails to return a WU by its deadline then the WU is sent out again to a 3rd person to run. The process begins again from there. There isn't any good rule for return dates though.

You'll see that shorter WU's have shorter deadlines. longer WU's longer return deadline.

OK, how long does it take to validate?

The validate only takes a fraction of a second once both results are back if the validator is running correctly.

How long can it take to get the other task back? Anywhere from 0 seconds to several months depending on how the other computer is doing. Typically it is only a day or two.

How long before the validator gets around to it? If things are running correctly, a second or so. If there is a problem, then it can be a few hours to a couple of weeks.
