Wow, a lot has changed since classic version (ran it back in 2002, haven't since around '03 or '04. Keep getting the same error messages no matter how much i play with the preferences.

31/01/2010 10:42:48 AM SETI@home Message from server: Your NVIDIA GPU has insufficient memory (need 384MB)
31/01/2010 10:42:48 AM SETI@home Message from server: SETI@home Enhanced needs 32.00MB more disk space. You currently have 0.00 MB available and it needs 32.00 MB.

Why it's requiring 384MB when the site says a 256 will do I'm not sure, and as for the disk space... i have 70 gigs free on the disk so why it's confused that i don't have enough space is unclear too. Anyone have a clue whats going on with this thing?

Local preferences set in BOINC Manager -> Advanced -> Preferences
override the web ACCOUNT > Computing preferences.

Try setting both to:

Disk and memory usage
Use at most	5 GB disk space
Leave at least	0.1 GB disk space free
Use at most	10% of total disk space

try backing off to the 191.XX drivers for Nvidia. they tend to work faster than the newer Drivers. are you running something that uses a lot of graphic power? It almost sounds like you are using the GPU for something else and BOINC won't interupt it.

make sure you read Bilbgs message. you'll need to override your web preferences. and I'd set the "use at most % to 50%. Seti won't get close to using that much but its worth a try.

try cleaning up your HDD. get rid of the trash and defrag.

Backed off to 191.07 Version, cleaned up HDD and went through and defragged it. Also tried force updating and tried using Reset Project to see if it'd help, i'm still getting the same error messages. Does this thing just hate windows xp 64 or something?

Can you shut down BOINC, restart it and copy the first 20 lines from the Messages tab here? That might help track down the problem.

OK, a few things I see:

The item in bold tells me you have the root of drive F: as your data directory. Most file systems have a limit to how many file entries can be in the root, so this may cause problems in the future.

The item in red tells me you only have 10GB of free hard drive space. Depending on your disk space values, you are more than likely choking BOINC too much.

The item in purple tells me you are using local preferences (the preferences override, meaning you are overriding any preferences you have set online for this computer).

Based on that, please go to BOINC Manager -> Advanced -> Preferences -> Disk and Memory Usage and post your values for the first three items (i.e. Use at Most X Gigabytes disk space, Leave at least X Gigabytes disk space free, and Use at Most X % of total disk space).

As to the F drive, i cleared out 15 gigs of space off it shifting stuff to other drives, thought i had it mapped to another HDD, prolly got the two paths mixed up so everything is on the wrong drives but meh.

Try "Leave at least .001 Gigs disk space free".

Ok, let's try some really big values just to see if we can get it working.

Use at most 100GB disk space
Leave at least 0.001 (the smallest supported amount)
Use at most 100% total disk space

Still a no go, going to try an uninstall/reinstall and see if maybe it doesn't clear up a malfunction somewhere lol.

Glad you got it working. Normally BOINC isn't this hard to get up and running. I've installed it on many machines over the years and normally it's a simple install-and-run type deal.

The same is true for me. I've installed it for years and it work every time without any problem. But know I'm having the same trouble as described here.
I'm running OpenSuSE 11.2 and it looks like reinstall will be the only solution. But what went wrong?

Seems to be a problem with the version 6.4.5. After update to 6.10.17 every thing is working. I mean of course the boinc software.
