Hi, When I reinstalled BOINC, it logged me on as USER. Even after uninstalling the program, and then reinstalling it, it keeps logging me on as USER. It won't let me log off as USER, and then back on as myself. I can't figure out how to log back on with my old account. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dean |

You are logged on as "Dean Clark" as you can see in the Author column to the left of your Message. However, probably your computer(s) is attached to the "USER" account, and since the account*.xml files aren't deleted with an uninstall, it'll remain that way until you manually detach from the USER account. Obviously, you have used a different email address when attaching the last time (Oct 2009), since it is impossible to have two accounts with the same address. Since accounts can't be merged, you only have two options:
So, you'll have to decide. :-) Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) SETI@home classic workunits 3,758 SETI@home classic CPU time 66,520 hours |

Gundolf, Sorry, but I think I already "detached" in the course of trying everything I could find to log off as USER. Sorry also for taking so long to find out I had logged on as USER. Not sure how that happened. I don't care if I lose the time put in as USER. I'd rather not reattach as USER, if I can avoid it. I think I have reattached already as Dean Clark. I think also I am just waiting to start a new task. Thanks, Dean |

No harm done, the tasks are not lost. And everything seems to work, indeed. You have already two task downloaded with your new (old :-) account. Congratz! Gundolf |
