A little kitty prayer is in order again....

Lori's precious little Callie gurl is about 14-15yo, and Monday she had a small stroke or seizure. Couldn't use her hind legs for a half hour or so. She had been moving very slowly on Sunday, and was not herself. Didn't each much of her mushy food, and she is normally a big chow hound.

She seems to have mostly recovered since...but she is not a spring chicken anymore.
This is very hard for Lori and I, coming so close to the loss of Oscar.

The Callie gurl.....

Thoughts and prayers coming your way, Mark. For what it's worth, my aunt had a cat that was 12 years old. Out of the blue she exhibited symptoms similar to what you described, unable to stand, apparent paralysis to her back legs. It lasted a couple days and she bounced back. At the time the vet thought perhaps it was a stroke, but due to the rapid recovery, tests he ran, and no subsequent symptoms he discounted that diagnosis. He suggested that it may have been a physical injury such as a fall or a not-so-graceful landing when jumping off of something that might have tweaked her spine or a nerve. "Candy" lived another 4 years and never had another episode like that again finally succumbing to kidney failure that was just a product of her advanced age. Jake, Alexis, Sasquatch and I all send best wishes to Callie.

Thanks, I spoke to Lori tonight, and Callie is in rather good spirits at the moment.
So, it's a day by day thing, but I pray for more good days to come.
She will get much extra attention and foodsie treats....(not that they weren't bestowed upon her before).

It's not quite the same as losing the wonderful Oscar way before his time, but losing anybody close to your heart is painful.

I pray it will not be any day soon.

Oh Christ, something is wrong with Squirrel too........she is hiding under the dining room table and won't come out. Even for her special kibbles......this is just not right.

She is sitting here on the couch next to me ignoring the special kibble I put out for her........

My God, My Saviour....... why are you punishing me???????

She is sleeping here by my side, as she usually does.
but sopmething is not right with her.

She still wants to be with me, but has not touched her kitty treat food.

I just don't know if I can cope with 3 kitties passing in a few months.........
I really don't.

Mark,
Thinking of you and the kitties.

Ed and three kitties: O'Leary near 15, Maggie 3 and 1/2, and Leonardo 2 and 1/2.

Can only be seen.......in the eyes of the blind.....in the middle of the night.
What a wonderful song.
I can barely see these days.......but I can sure here the music.

In the middle of the night. No less. Some may accompany me here. Mahy will choose not to.,
Some will never know the difference....
In the middle......Joel is a God. His best song.

Makes my cry every time.........for good reason.
In the middle of the Night.......

Most of you cannot hear my tears......or wipe my eyes.
But that does not mean I don't cry............
