Hi, just installed BOINC 6.10.28 on iMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.4 20-Inch (Al) running Mac OS 10.6.2. Doesn't recognize the card. Tried searching for latest drivers : none available. Ran Onyx diagnostics (permissions, caches etc) Any ideas ? Thanks ! Pierre |

I'm not aware of any Project that uses a Mac and ATI card for crunching. The only 3 projects that use ati for anything are Collatz, Milkyway and Seti(astropulse only). these are Windows and Linux apps. only. There may be 3rd party apps created for Mac/ATI combos though. Also the 2400 is a fairly weak GPU. I had a 2600XT that I blew up running collatz. It took that card 2+ Hours to complete a WU. my new 4770 takes 16-17 minutes. I would assume the 2400 to be even slower than the 2600. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Thanks for the info Skildude, but I think this page : http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/GPU_computing should be clarified to state clearly that Macs are excluded from using the GPU even though one is running the latest version of BOINC for Mac and using a "supported" card. Pierre |

you could check at lunatics for the Astropulse GPU app. and at Milkyway and Collatz to see if they have a 3rd party app. They just might. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |
