Boinc projects, SetiAtHome included, allow for running multiple, concurrent projects and work units. Also allowed is running the GPU (via CUDA) with a processor to speed things up.

Is there any way to allow multiple cores to work on the very SAME work unit?

PS: I'm using an AMD Quad Core + Nvidia card.

No, Seti doesn't have a multi-threaded app. IFAIK there is only one project that has a multi-thread app and for now, it cause all kinds of problems for Boinc scheduling other projects. Boinc will eventually be able to schedule this, but that is in the future. Don't expect Seti to go multi-thread any time soon.
