hey guys, I got this installed on Ubuntu Hardy server with command line only, I got boinc installed and runnning, I even got it attached to seti, But none, NONE of the tutorials I have found give the adequate information on how to actually attach my account. I have tried boinc_cmd --project_attach http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ email@email.com mypassword and that FAILS. what am I doing wrong and can someone give me a nudge in the right direction plz plz plz Fixer was here.. |

boinccmd --help gives me (on windows xp) --project_attach URL auth attach to projectwhere "auth" is your account key (a 32-character alphanumerical string) I think. You can copy that from your account page. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) SETI@home classic workunits 3,758 SETI@home classic CPU time 66,520 hours |

Well the problem with that is that I allready attached to seti@home, and I cannot get my account loaded, Im thinking i need to DETATCH then reattach with my key but theres nothing in the help file about detaching from a project. Error 130:Allready Attached to project, problem is when I originally told it to attach I tried to use my email and psw, thats before I found out about the key. and now that I am attached, it looks like there is no way to add my accout Fixer was here.. |

What about--project URL op project operation op = reset | detach | update | suspend | resume | nomorework | allowmorework ____________^^^^^? You sir are awesome, that was missing from ALL of the tutorials on the web, I detached and issued this and it worked boinc_cmd --project_attach http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ KEY23423432442344 and it works!! yay, thanks so much! Now I gotta wait and see if it begins to crunch successfully. Doesnt seem to be transferring WUs or doing anything at all at this point, odd. Is there anything else you can think of that I have missed? The machine is online, it hosts my site, But I dont see boinc doing anything actively, is seti out of WUs? NRPC Failures=6 <--no idea what that means, but the numbers getting higher. Fixer was here.. |

Aren't there any hints in stdoutdae(.txt)? Please keep in mind that I only run windows, so the filenames might vary (such as boinccmd and boinc_cmd). By the way, isn't there the --help option in unix? And yes, there seems to be a problem with generating new work units, see the Server status page and the cricket graphs. Gruß, Gundolf [edit]Ah yes, and there's an outage scheduled today, see the Panic Mode On (27) Server problems thread and the technical news.[/edit] |
