What is your CUDA driver version? Did you see this thread at the BOINC dev boards? Ageless wrote: The new Nvidia API that BOINC 6.10 uses has a minimum driver set of CUDA 2.2, 185.85. But the GUI /Boinc Manager didnt found the GPU. 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Starting BOINC client version 6.10.18 for windows_x86_64 02.01.2010 02:35:24 log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Libraries: libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8l zlib/1.2.3 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Running as a daemon 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Running under account boinc_master 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Processor: 4 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz [Intel64 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 7] 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Processor: 3.00 MB cache 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 pni mmx 02.01.2010 02:35:24 OS: Microsoft Windows 7: x64 Edition, (06.01.7600.00) 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Memory: 4.00 GB physical, 8.00 GB virtual 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Disk: 80.00 GB total, 34.42 GB free 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Local time is UTC +1 hours 02.01.2010 02:35:24 No usable GPUs found 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Not using a proxy 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Einstein@Home URL http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/; Computer ID 2245921; resource share 100 02.01.2010 02:35:24 SETI@home URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5243055; resource share 100 02.01.2010 02:35:24 No general preferences found - using BOINC defaults 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Reading preferences override file 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Preferences limit memory usage when active to 1842.83MB 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 3685.66MB 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Preferences limit disk usage to 10.00GB 02.01.2010 02:35:24 Preferences limit # CPUs to 3 I readed some FAQ for this but nothing helped. IIRC the 195.XX drivers run the CUDA app a bit slower than the pervious driver version. There is a thread around here discussing that In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Same problem here - just downloaded and installed BOINC on my HP desktop (e9220y), with the ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card. Same problem here - just downloaded and installed BOINC on my HP desktop (e9220y), with the ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card. I'm getting the following message: SETI@Home does not support processing using ATi GPUs at this time. I downloaded BOINC using Firefox, so I don't think the "Protected Mode" is an issue. Protected Mode has to do with a type of BOINC installation, not what browser you used to download it. |

Same problem here - just downloaded and installed BOINC on my HP desktop (e9220y), with the ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card. I'm getting the following message: I notice that you have an ATI card. SETI currently only accepts NVIDIA. There is a third party optimized application that uses ATI, and SETI has an ATI driver in the works, but the one from SETI is not ready yet. I believe that the third part ATI app that does SETI can be downloaded from lunatics. BOINC WIKI |

Having a similar problem. Weird thing is that I installed the newest Nvidia drivers last night. Afterwords everything was fine. Then I shut down the computer overnight, booted back up this morning and I'm back to no GPU detected. 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Starting BOINC client version 6.10.18 for windows_intelx86 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Libraries: libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8l zlib/1.2.3 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Processor: 2 AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+ [x86 Family 15 Model 75 Stepping 2] 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Processor: 512.00 KB cache 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 pni 3dnow mmx 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM OS: Microsoft Windows 7: Ultimate x86 Edition, (06.01.7600.00) 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Memory: 2.00 GB physical, 4.00 GB virtual 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Disk: 152.59 GB total, 122.29 GB free 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Local time is UTC -6 hours 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM No usable GPUs found 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM SETI@home Application uses missing NVIDIA GPU 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Not using a proxy 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM SETI@home URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5228150; resource share 100 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM SETI@home General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 05-Jan-2010 19:02:35) 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM SETI@home Host location: none 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM SETI@home General prefs: using your defaults 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Reading preferences override file 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Preferences limit memory usage when active to 204.74MB 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 1842.69MB 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Preferences limit disk usage to 10.00GB 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Suspending computation - user is active 1/6/2010 8:19:10 AM Suspending network activity - user is active |

Asking a question already asked. Are you running BOINC in protected mode? Win7 and vista cannot run the BOINC GPU process in protected mode. If you are unsure whether BOINC is installed in protected mode then your solution is a reinstall of BOINC without protected mode In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. I checked on a few threads before posting and saw somewhere that you'd get a message about being in Daemon mode or something similar if running protected. I didn't get that message so assumed I was fine. Even so, on your advice I uninstalled and reinstalled BOINC. This version tells you in the install process that "protected mode is disabled by default" so accidentally installing in protected mode shouldn't happen. You'd have to intentionally attempt a protected mode install. So, reinstall complete, and no change. I also looked over the thread at the BOINC dev site linked above and see that a lot of the newer betas are having GPU detection problems, though it seems that 6.10.18 should be ok. |

See this message for the proper CUDA driver version you'll need to have onboard In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

The driver install I did last night was 195.62 which has the latest CUDA driver version available. I'm accessing the system via remote desktop, so maybe that's getting in the way since I know the Nvidia control panel isn't accessible via RDC. |

DINGDINGDING. remote desktop will shutdown the seti GPU processes. they don't play well together. YOu'll need to access the PC in person. I actually use logmein an it seems to work just fine with my GPU processes In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

I just knew it was going to be something simple like that. Thanks for the hand and the software suggestion! |
