I have been having constant lockfile errors and after three days of trying to find a solution and have not come across anything that helps. I am now asking here. As far as I can tell I am only running 1 instance of boinc and I don't know what to do about this. this is the error message I find. Thanks for any help. Did you try a reboot? [edit]Please post the first 20 or so lines from your Messages tab here after a reboot.[/edit] What is the setting in your preferences for "Use at most -- percent of CPU time"? What AV program do you use? Did you exclude the BOINC data directory from AV scanning? Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Hi Yep I rebooted. Here is the messages. I allocated 30% cpu time and I am running CA security as an anti virus, don't usually have any issues with it. thanks -------------- 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Starting BOINC client version 6.10.18 for windows_intelx86 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Libraries: libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8l zlib/1.2.3 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Running as a daemon 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Data directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Running under account boinc_master 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 6] 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Processor: 6.00 MB cache 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 mmx 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM OS: Microsoft Windows XP: Professional x86 Edition, Service Pack 3, (05.01.2600.00) 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Memory: 3.00 GB physical, 4.84 GB virtual 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Disk: 145.29 GB total, 49.90 GB free 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Local time is UTC +1 hours 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM No usable GPUs found 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM Not using a proxy 12/22/2009 3:22:48 PM SETI@home URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; The CPU-throttling (allowing less than 100% of CPU time) sometimes causes those problems. So, try setting your preferences to On multiprocessors, use at most 50 % of the processors Enforced by version 6.1+ Use at most 100 percent of CPU time (Can be used to reduce CPU heat) That results in an effective usage of 50% of your system, in case you did throttle to avoid overheating issues. Are you using local preferences? If so, check that they have the same values as the online ones, because local preferences override the online ones. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) SETI@home classic workunits 3,758 SETI@home classic CPU time 66,520 hours |
