Here's something to watch if you have the time. History channel's "Life After People" documentary. I love the lie that Humans are not part of the natural world. There is nothing "unatural" about us at all we are doing what any other organism does every day on this planet. In some cases a given organism reproduces to the point where the habitat can't support the it and a mass die off usually follows like deer or elk herds in colorado; yes even with all the hunters here their are still problems with habitat over population. With humans over population won't be taken care of by voluntary population control like chinas disasterous experiment but by disease and conflict and like any other oraganism subject to the laws of nature the resourceful ones among us will have a better chance of survival while those that don't know how to feed themselve without a microwave in arms reach won't. Global warming? HA! worry about global war. "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men." Willy Wonka |

the reason you have elk and deer over population is because of humans. Deer and elk are prey animals. Had humans not elimnated the Wolf and bear population to such an extent the deer and elk population would have been held down, for lack of a better word, naturally. Evidence of this is in Yellowstone National park. When the wolves were reintroduced the coyote population dropped and deer and elk populations came down. It seems that nature has its own way of balancing things out. We just think we know better In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Luke, If you haven't seen "Soylent Green" yet, then you need to do more research. I can't believe a climate activist who has never seen that movie. You just aren't committed enough. |

Luke, Why do you assume I haven't? I have had time to watch it since... In all due respect, there's a saying: "Going to church doesn't make you anymore of a Christian, than standing in a garage makes you a car." I love the lie that Humans are not part of the natural world. So you just propose we continue onwards with our mass, worldwide wipe out of entire species, and putting our one and only planet on a collision course with greenhouse gases? There is nothing natural about a man-made extinction event. By extension and indirectly is it natural. We have the terms primarily, and secondarily for a reason. - Luke. |

Homo Sapiens is learning. The only way they can. Slowly and deadly. It's is easy to sit back with a full belly, in relative comfort and think how if I were in charge or if I am GOD, it would be cake. Tell me of a person who can get through a day without a fellow H. Sapien not getting on the nerves. Multiply by population, and it is all easily understood. History reveals all. Now and the future is no exception. The Pain is worth it-for the species(H.Sapien). We will learn how to build self-contained environments for our survival anywhere in The Universe. In the meantime...the Death and Pain continues. However, we realize the danger and are making moves to mitigate. It used to be only a few enlightened souls knew the risks, now a Great Minority of Earth People are part of The Movement towards a less than bad outcome. Ranting, raving and extreme behaviour to fix the problems will turn bad into disaster. Cluck Cluck. Stack 'em. May we All have a METAMORPHOSIS. REASON. GOoD JUDGEMENT and LOVE and ORDER!!!!! |

Its not in us as a species; we always revert to basic self interest needs. Its hard to reason out the greater good when you and your family is starving. There is nothing natural about a man-made extinction event. By extension and indirectly is it natural. Last time I checked Man was natural, so anything he does is by extension natural. Darwin's law operates on humans as well. |

likr making plastic and creating a computer, walking around with a gadget in our ears all day, or making a machine that uses ancient dead creatures(cars) a lot of what we do is unnatural. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

There you go putting man on a pedestal and declaring him different. Darwin's law operates on man as well. |

Unlikely to get 193 world leaders to EVER agree for the same thing if having to "pay", even if faced w/ certain extinction of human race in a VERY short period i.e. astroid strike, containment of the "perfect" virus, whatever. IMO, we're far too petty a species and always revert to self-interest, even if it means our own collective demise. |

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/climatechange/7177230/New-errors-in-IPCC-climate-change-report.html Guess that answers my question, there is absolutely nothing these people haven't lied about. What a scam, it would be funny if not for the billions of taxpayer dollars that have been given to these quacks. |

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/climatechange/7177230/New-errors-in-IPCC-climate-change-report.html Have you even bothered to read past the headline? Note: Researchers insist the errors are minor and do not impact on the overall conclusions about climate change. However, senior scientists are now expressing concern at the way the IPCC compiles its reports and have hit out at the panel’s use of so-called “grey literature†— evidence from sources that have not been subjected to scientific Âscrutiny. A new poll has revealed that public belief in climate change is weakening. The panel’s controversial chair, Rajendra Pachauri, pictured right, is facing pressure to resign over the affair. The IPCC attempted to counter growing criticism by releasing a statement insisting that authors who contribute to its 3,000-page report are required to “critically assess and review the quality and validity of each source†when they use material from unpublished or non-peer-reviewed sources. ... So, out of thousands of pages of detailed report and many thousands of reference sources, the most ardent of sceptics and denialists have found just two utterly trivial mistakes. Utterly pathetic. In contrast, where is the killer evidence that the many Giga-tons of CO2 that is being dumped into our atmosphere on an ever increasing industrial scale is not having any effect on the world? So far, there is NONE. That's right: there is NOTHING that says we can pollute all we want without a care in the world. If there was, I'm very sure we would all know about it. No childish conspiracy theories needed. Regards, Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Note: Umm.... the same "researchers" that have already lied to the world repeatedly? Sorry not placing a whole lot of trust in them at present. These people have been proven to have lied about and manipulated data to support their paychecks. Go ahead and keep believing their BS though. |

Note: You keep on screaming "lies" and "BS". What have you for that other than just some silly childish conspiracies? You are focussing on some very minor points that are utter trivia amongst all the real world FACTS. Just one small detail if you're not happy with all the presumed "glaciers conspiracies": Galapagos sea lions head for warm Peru waters There are ever more examples like that. Dream on?! Meanwhile, we are ever more quickly industriously polluting our own atmosphere. The question now is for how many years we have left, rather than centuries... I don't know about you ML1. On the Climate thread you were claiming conspiracies involving the oil companies and big money. When I showed there was a thousand times more money provided by the government to prove CO2 warming exist, you will not admit there is a conspiracy on the other side. I don't think it's so much a conspiracy as getting what you payed for. The only people I know who claim that we only have years left are the same ones involved in climate gate. Do you have another source of information that's not so questionable? You may also want to read up on El Nimos because we are in one and we get one about every 10 years. The are a normal and not caused by global warming. They also can't be explained by the current climate models but greatly impact our climate. |
