ok, so I've read just about all threads containing 'stats' and tried sending a good share of requests, and yet I can't seem to get my boinc/project stats onto a webpage. I've tried fooling around with the xml/xds-files supplied from this web, without results, and wouldn't mind if someone could give the TOTAL info on how to achieve the stats for my webpage or the relevant link explaining it for ... dummies. I've got 'above basic' HTML-knowledgde, 'about basic' php-knowledgde, and absolutely no experience with xml. berkeley encourage ppl to make 3.rd party stats-sites, par example for team-sites wich is what i'm trying to create, but leave very documentation/manual for non-hardcore-coders. I take it you want to make a site just for your team, right? True, the XML they give you will work but might be a bit overwhelming (why download 10,000 teams when all you want is one?). I use the XML they give out for my website. I parse the XML into a database and then generate the web pages dynamically using php. I use a java XML parser to process the xml from the projects and stick them into the database. I'm sure php has a similar built in XML parser that could aid you in your quest. If you are only doing a site for your team, you probably wouldn't need a database as the content would be more static. Would it help if you could download an xml file with just your team in it? I thought one of the stats sites was experimenting with this but I'm not sure if it ever turned out. I have thought about doing this as well. A member of The Knights Who Say NI! I am also interested in setting up a stat page , but where do you get the xml files from? <img src="http://www.setisynergy.com/images/stats/comb-153.jpg"></img> |

As a matter of fact BOINC.dk is starting a xml proxy service where you can request just XML for a single user instead of everyone. If this is of interest to anyone perhaps it will be expanded to cover teams as well. The XML is much more detailed than the one from seti |

Yes I've got the basics now, BUT: if anyone could do a truely dummie-explanation. The 'for dummies' part of this thread needs to be emphasized in a way that enables anyone who wish to create a stats-page, whether for just for themselves or for their team. The optimal would probably be one of the current statspages such as boincstats.com or boinc.dk having this dummie-explanation, but if one already do, I haven't found it!
