I have tried to change my email address.

The screen says that a verification message (that must be responded to) is being sent to the new email address.

No email is received and my email address remains in a "Verification Pending" mode.

This has happened for two (2) valid, new email addresses.

The usual problem is indeed SPAM filters gettng in the way. If you have a SPAM filter set, please check the settings and change them to allow BOINC through.

The problem I had was the fact it simply wouldn't send an email to my Yahoo account. No spam filters were enabled and when I used a pobox.com account (which forwards to the yahoo account) the email came through immediately and showed up in my inbox. Seems like the website or email server didn't WANT to send to yahoo.com.

There are anti-spam systems out there now which look at mail across a large portion of the net and notice when there are a lot of identical messages getting sent. The assuption is if several thousand people are getting the same email, it's probably spam. Unfortunately this assumption is often wrong. Also, email with links in it is usually considered spam. I think AOL users were also having this problem? I'd complain to your email provider about it and ask them to look into why you didn't get the mail, while waiting on that, see about using a different email address.

I had exactly the same problem on Beta and sent mails and posted messages about it. Eventually I got a reply on how to do it but it still didn't work. What i did eventually was Where it said 'verification pending', I typed in the new address and then clicked on 'edit'. This then said that a verification email was being sent, which it was immediately - something wrong with the instructions really. Try it and let me know.

BTW, I also have yahoo mail with spam filters and firewalling but it was not caused by them at all.
