I am not affiliated with this site but have found it very useful.

I have use this in the past 2 days to speed up 2 of my computers...

Explains all about the services used in all Microsoft Os's, which can be disabled and which chew-up memory for no reason...

so far my Laptop, AMD Athlon 2200 (1.6 ghz) 512 mb ram was running WU's at 10hrs each... now 6hrs 30mins

my p4 2.4ghz 256mb ram was at 8 hrs... now 7hrs 11mins
