I am trying to upgrade my preferences from 2 processors to 4. I get the following message: These preferences apply to all the BOINC projects in which you participate. Unable to update preferences. The values marked in red below were out of range or not numeric. --- Nothing is marked in red and even changing the value back to 2 returns the same message. Need advice, thanks... I do not believe the world will end in 2012, however it occurs to me that we are on the threshold of change that will be so beautifully profound that we will find it difficult to believe what we are experiencing, even as it happens. 13 Chuen |

YOu can either go to your account page and change your computing preference to 100% or you should be able to change it on your boinc manager to 100% IIRC. I'm not sure if it allows you to change the actual # of Cores or if its a percentage In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

I am trying to upgrade my preferences from 2 processors to 4. I get the following message: This is the standard header line, even bevor you enter edit mode. Unable to update preferences. The values marked in red below were out of range or not numeric. Which values did you change? The values that skildude mentioned are for BOINC version 6.x. Since you are still running version 5, the correct preference is On multiprocessors, use at most -- processorsI believe the default is 16. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. I want to change the number of processors used from 2 to 4. Repeating your first request doesn't help us. Did you read what we posted? which PC are you trying to adjust? the intel? are you sure this isnt a 2 core CPU. since INtel makes a core 2 duo and core 2 quad its hard to tell with the info we currently have. You do have several problems that are pretty plain. Your BOINC version is very old. You might consider at least installing 6.6.XX or higher. YOu are also running a beta(testing) version of a Windows OS that is no longer in use since its been released as 7. You may want to consider installing either XP or 7. I think the BOINC upgrade will get you where you want to go. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Actually, "Windows Longhorn" was the code name for Windows Vista. Windows 7 was codenamed both Vienna and Blackcomb. That his CPU is not 'registered' correctly is also a combination of the older BOINC version and the OS. So even with a newer BOINC version, the description of his CPU may not update. |

Okay, sorry about that. I am trying to upgrade my AMD Quad core. I'll upgrade BOINC and maybe even use my Windows 7 coupon. :) Thanks everyone! Final NOTE: That's what I'm talkin' about!! Thanks again.
