No, this is not possible with BOINC. SETI Classic had SETI-Queue (or was it called SETI-Q?) since there was no caching built into the client. BOINC has caching options built-in which allows each client to hold their own pool of work negating the need for a central workunit distributor on a local network. |

The work is assigned to individual machines caches, and that system has to process the work and return the result. The possibility of a master Boinc manager that will have the ability to redistribute work among a network of computers has been discussed before. This concept is still very low on the priority list. There are still many other improvements to Boinc on the to-do list that take precedence. It may still be a couple of years before the developers can take this on. A system will need to be developed that tags in a foolproof way the results to the machine that does the work to prevent users from creating the 'cheat' of a super cruncher which is one of the things that was happening on Classic.
