Normal ... so ~10 Years in the past the good old seti client was set on running only in idle so that any CPU usage from other programs are favored. the problem now with boinc ist all running applications are set on normal priority so they steal my cpu usage for the daily work. how can i set boinc the way to set all application from Boinc zu low CPU priority cause manual setting for every new task sucks hard...

All project applications run at the lowest possible priority, even one notch lower than Lowest. BOINC and BOINC Manager run on normal priority, but they don't use the CPU that much anyway.

If you see things differently, perhaps that you tried a cc_config.xml file with the option <no_priority_change> on. That will run science applications at the same priority as the client: Normal. if you didn't.. well, then everything runs at one notch below lowest.

Perhaps you should try "Suspend GPU work while computer is in use" in your Computing preferences.

How do you start BOINC?

- If by going Start->Programs->BOINC, when looking at the shortcut link's properties, what does it tell in the Target line to start up?

- If by your own shortcut, also tell what it says on the Target line.

(I ask as there is a command line option to change the priority as well)

And can you else double check in Task Manager, with the Base-priority column ordered to show the Low users first. If need be post an image (needs an external site such as Photobucket) of what you see.
