No, at Seti internet connection is not needed while crunching any tasks. It's only needed for uploading, reporting and downloading further work. |

hm . . My boinc has finished 1 task, then what should I do? Just leave it and download some boinc projects? Yes. If your computer is attached to the internet, and Advanced View - Activity is set to allow internet connections, BOINC will automatically download and report work. You can tell BOINC how long you expect your computer to not have an internet connection by setting "Connect Every X" in either the web settings, or you can override a single computer by setting the local preferences. This setting is you giving an estimate of the longest amount of time between times you will allow it to download work. If there is an internet connection available, it will download work if it needs to - even if it was only a few minutes since the last time. BOINC WIKI |

Hi Denver, Since you say you finished your first task,it must have uploaded it and got a new task while you had internet connection. The next thing it will do when it gets connected again is report the finished task. when it does that you will see credits show up on your tasks page on your account webpage and pending will show under the status column. When your wingman (the other person working on that unit) finishes you will get credit for the finished work. It will probably download another work unit or two at that time too. If you click the "Your results" button in the Projects or Tasks tab of BOINC manager in advanced view, you are taken to the list of tasks on your computer(s). Click on the Task ID of a completed task to see the details. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben.
