For some reason, when I go to look at my progress on the SETI website, I see that I have a backlog of 82 tasks under "pending" where it says it's "complete, awaiting validation." Is it normal for tasks to take two weeks or more for validation?

your pending work requires the work of a wingman. When the wingman finishes are reports their work it is matched and validated with your work. It may take months for someone to return a valid result. Patience is necessary for this process
