I shall not............

I am just in the depths of despair right now.......

Let me tell all of you that I shall not harm myself........no matter what I posture. It will not happen........

Although I would like to be with my Oscar bud right now..............I am somewhat OK.........OK?

I think a person like you should not be allowed to post. They should report you to the authorities and you should be green carded and given treatment.

Then again, I'm not a peer, so what do I know.

Mark,

It is time to seek professional help. Alcohol is not a medication. Your friends here can suffer with you but not actively provide help. For that you need to call your local crisis hotline and speak with them. Depression is treatable and proper medication can improve your quality of life as well as those who care about you.

So please, pick up the phone and begin the recovery process right now. We are all with you on this. We care. Your kitties need you.

Please ... make that call.

You might want to head to your local Animal shelter for a visit. I suggest taking a large bag of kibble to donate. Heck you might even find a new friend there. Certainly won't replace what you lost but another friend that'll keep you company

I am sure when Lori and I have had some healing time, we shall head on out to the shelter....if not to actually search for a new kitty, then to take a few presents and visit the kitties....

I'll have to check the finances early next year after the house taxes and insurance are paid to see if we can arrange another larger donation again....so stay in touch on that.

And regardless of who thinks last night was a mistake.....
It was good for me. I feel much better today, having let go of much of the pain I had kept inside for the last few weeks.

If the 6 Billion in the World(not including the 800 Million with full bellies)who actually have True Pain, all had internet access and went online constantly to ease their pain, the net would collaspe under the bandwidth deluge.

But I guess they'll have to suffer in silence or actually talk to real humans for whatever comfort they can derive.

Certainly GOD must Bless some and not others in ways which do not include internet access.

In The World of 2038 as described by David Brin in his 1989 book Earth, The World is All Net, with very few without net access, and The Pain of The 10 Billion is Excrutiating. So much for sharing.

All I can say is I am grateful that I have been blessed with the privilege of having friends such as there are on these boards.
And pray for those who are not so blessed.
And help God's little kitty creatures when I can.

Mark, go look at the Whiskey and Moonshine Bar where I have just posted my latest news about Whiskey. Now there's a man with some cause to complain at what life has dealt him in recent months but he is getting on, rebuilding and reaching out in the best way possible.
I wish he could get online and have a chat with you but not yet, not yet.
You hold on yourself because you may lose one friend but you will keep - and gain - far more.

I am doing much better today.......and apparently so is Whiskey, judging from the new photos.
Thank you for the reminder about other people having problems. I am sure there are some here who are suffering but do not wish to discuss it in public.
That surely does not erase the pain I felt over the loss of Oscar....but it does put it in perspective.

Mark,

I came across this thread just now and it is a scary thing to read from the beginning... you sounded so down and you seemed to have little direct contact other than these message boards.

I have been where you are. My "Back-fence cat" ( she came over the back fence one day and never left ) after more than 15 years, with kidneys gone and losing weight, she had to be put down recently and I was a mess.

Everyone, these boards are great. But in times of trouble, we all need a Bridge Over Troubled Water... someone to put an arm around our shoulders... to sit and cry with us... something that cannot be done "online".

I am glad to hear that you are feeling better and things are getting back to "normal", what ever that is.

I have at this time 8 packages of Catatude and a Cocker Spaniel, who loves her kitties.

So yes, someone else to focus on and give your love to can help, whether that be someone old ( your other cats still need you even if they would not admit to it ) or someone new ( there are plenty of these at the shelters ).

But I hope that everyone has a Bridge over their Troubled Waters because we all have Troubled Waters at times. At this time so many Troubled Waters come in the form of a pink slip at work.

Thank you for your thoughts Steven....

I am doing much better. Giving all of my kitties a lotta extra attention, and soaking up their love in return.
Also Lori's two remaining kitties.

We are going to her sister's place for Thanksgiving dinner....and they always have more food served up than you can handle....LOL.

I have a lot of things to be thankful for on this day. More than many. Time to refocus on those.

To ponder, for even one second, splashing your brains all over the ceiling due to a damned cat that croaked speaks volumes.

Lose the booze, get some help and get real.
I'm getting weary of your attention seeking.
You have to be the neediest SOB I've ever encountered.

So as not to appear HOSTILE it seems all I can do is agree with Mark.
A dead cat is a worthy and romantic cause for the actions you describe and I fully support you in following Oscar to the other side.

Don't make a mess
