Since a short time we have the nation flags near the nicks in the forum.

But why no flag for international members?
Normally if international, it's the UN flag.

It'll coming soon?

Also some other countries are not available.
AFAIK, North Korea, Antarctica..

They'll coming soon also?

Antarctica is not a nation, but comprises a number of territories (with provisional or disputed boundaries) belonging to various countries: Australia, NZ, Chile, Argentina, France, Norway, and the UK. Anyway I doubt that many of the hundred or so ‘Antarctican’ users actually live there, even for part of the year—if any do at all.

Ops, I found North Korea..

But, what's with the other countries?
All are available?

And the international members?

Yes.. O.K. ..
I saw now.. Antarctica have no own flag, right?
But have an own domain '.aq' .
You can choose Antarctica as location in your account.
I saw someone in the forum, which chose it and near his nick was 'Antarctica' written.

Actually, by international law, no country owns any piece of Antarctica (Argentina claims a part of it, which claim is recognized by no other country). The countries have stations there, some of which are manned year around (including the south pole station that is mostly manned by the US).

We are getting the flags from some other web site that offers to match flags to countries. No, I don't remember which one.

Are you sure?

Because the URLs are: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/flags/XX.png

[XX for the country domain]

Maybe someone should 'call' them because of the UN (international) flag.

I am pretty sure. I do remember a discussion about it (a while ago) and it was decided that they would use the flag / country list from X. It is quite possible that it has been copied and is being hosted from the project.

The discussion was on the Boinc mailing (possibly Dev) list. The flag list is supplied as part the Boinc server software. The original flags and index came from a third party open source.

I don't remember the details but there was back and forth on the use of the UN flag for international members and unflaged regions.
