Message 947349 - Posted: 15 Nov 2009, 3:56:38 UTC - in response to Message 947343.

Don't get me wrong.......

I am not putting JFK up as a candidate for sainthood.

Yes, he was a man, and he had his failings like all men do.

Hoover was involved too. LBJ, Nixon.......they all had a roll either in planning or covering up the truth.

There is the old game of 'if I could go back in time'.....

This would be the first thing I would do. Camp out on the grassy knoll.......

If the truth about any one event in man's history could be revealed, I think this would be the one.

And it would shock you all if the truth were ever to come to light.

I'd say the ones who had a motive to kill Him were, Since He was Irish and Catholic, Could have simply been people like those in the Klan, As they do not like either, plus Jews, Blacks and who knows who else.

Didn't know Him, But I was 2 yrs old then and yeah It's time to let JFK RIP, He deserves no less as a President and WWII war hero in the Pacific on the PT-109.

It's not like We should forget of course, Just not dwell on It.

That was rude Greg.

He is not dead to me.........
He lives on....his memory lives on.

That's exactly what 'they' want you to do........

You would all rather have me bury it in the sand, just like they want you to do.

RIP his body might, but not his soul.

Instead of giving it a rest, why don't we continue to search for the truth?

THAT is what he wants........a true accounting.

Remember the phrase, "You can't handle the truth?"

Are we obsessing on JFK here?

47 years is a long time. JFK is dead. Can't undo it. He is not a saint, he was a man.

Rude? No

Real? Yes.

Time to deal with it.

This thread has veered wildly off of topic of VETERAN'S DAY/REMEMBERANCE DAY...

Insulting Obama...it's gone way into Politics.

What an insult to the original intent :(

Just a quick story from my family history. My grandfather was a volunteer in the 1st World War - he spent 4 years in the trenches. He survived, but died young of cancer, leaving my grandmother to bring up 3 daughters alone. I have two uncles who served in WW2. One as an engineer attached to the Commandos (he took part in the raid on the Lofoten islands) - I have a book (Commando attack) with his picture in it. He emigrated to Canada after the war, joined gun clubs and was a Mountie. But would never hunt animals - said he had seen too much death and suffering.

Another Uncle was in the RAF and was killed when shot down over the North Sea.

My father was born in a Royal Flying Corps camp between the wars, was trained as a bomber radio operator and volunteered at age 17 - he was in a "protected occupation" and wasn't taken - he regretted this all his life.

Most of us have a family history of service to our Country.

This is a late addition to this thread, but I just wanted to say that I support our forces in the work they do, and also think of the fallen.

Tom
