Hi - I recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit from Vista Home Premium 64 bit - no problems with Boinc/Seti. (No hardware changes - video card is Nvidia GeForce 96000M GT with driver version 179.48). After a week, I then moved from BOINC 6.6.41 to 6.10.17 (uninstalling 6.6.41 before installing 6.10.17) and now I get the message "GPU missing, waiting to start" next to each of my CUDA tasks. Any help would be appreciated - Dave My startup messages follow - 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM Starting BOINC client version 6.10.17 for windows_x86_64 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM Libraries: libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8k zlib/1.2.3 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM Running under account David 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz [Intel64 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 6] 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM Processor: 3.00 MB cache 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 pni 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM OS: Microsoft Windows 7: Home Premium x64 Edition, (06.01.7600.00) 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM Memory: 3.97 GB physical, 7.93 GB virtual 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM Disk: 288.20 GB total, 179.45 GB free 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM Local time is UTC -5 hours 09/11/2009 11:52:47 AM No usable GPUs found 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM SETI@home Application uses missing NVIDIA GPU 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM SETI@home Missing coprocessor for task 04ap07aa.26076.567918.6.10.134_0 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM SETI@home Missing coprocessor for task 04ap07aa.26076.567918.6.10.128_1 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM SETI@home Missing coprocessor for task 03ap07aa.31439.15205.9.10.61_0 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM SETI@home Missing coprocessor for task 01ap07ab.21006.1299.10.10.123_2 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM SETI@home Missing coprocessor for task 03ap07aa.30198.11933.12.10.11_1 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM SETI@home Missing coprocessor for task 04ap07aa.4590.560147.8.10.185_1 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM SETI@home Missing coprocessor for task 05ap07aa.20568.6616.6.10.242_1 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM SETI@home Missing coprocessor for task 05ap07aa.20568.22976.6.10.93_0 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM SETI@home Missing coprocessor for task 04ap07aa.15633.555239.14.10.120_0 09/11/2009 11:52:48 AM Not using a proxy 09/11/2009 11:52:50 AM SETI@home URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID 5078478; resource share 100 09/11/2009 11:52:50 AM SETI@home General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 04-Nov-2009 13:26:53) 09/11/2009 11:52:50 AM SETI@home Host location: none 09/11/2009 11:52:50 AM SETI@home General prefs: using your defaults 09/11/2009 11:52:50 AM Reading preferences override file 09/11/2009 11:52:50 AM Preferences limit memory usage when active to 2031.60MB 09/11/2009 11:52:50 AM Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 2031.60MB 09/11/2009 11:52:51 AM Preferences limit disk usage to 50.00GB 09/11/2009 11:52:51 AM Preferences limit # CPUs to 1 09/11/2009 11:52:53 AM SETI@home Restarting task 04ap07aa.26076.567918.6.10.110_1 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 |

From http://boinc.berkeley.edu/gpu.php: 3) Get the latest driver The 179.48 drivers are very old. Even though a Geforce 96000M may be from the future. ;-) |
