boinc / boinc_master processes have been showing up as unresponsive at least every 2-3 days (sometimes less sometimes more).

Although it doesn't seem to adversely affect anything when it goes down (wu's in tasks keep going, everything seems normal) - what is it?

If it is important (I assume it is the actual local client/host), can someone recommend a util to detect when it stalls and restart boinc and boinc_master automatically.
