Message 943718 - Posted: 29 Oct 2009, 23:12:48 UTC - in response to Message 943653.

It looks like a total of 9 people use a browser to access SETI@home! Come on lurkers.... 9 posts to 70 views???

6 use Firefox
2 use Internet Explorer
1 uses Chrome
0 for Safari & Opera... not surprised.

Anybody else?

Firefox on my main machine at home
IE8 as forced upon me by the Win 7 installation on my Laptop
IE7 for most work as HP iLO commonly locks IE8 up dead and reports that IE is required if you try to use FF.

At home, FF.

At work (where I am now), IE7. (Shhh, don't tell the boss I'm surfing instead of serving!)

It's a planet mentioned in the clone wars saga too, Although the wiki spells It Kamino, My bad, I missed one. :o

Although in Spanish the word is spelled with a C instead. :)

This is better... but I am surprised about the post-to-view ratio. Come on lurkers!

Totals...

16 use Mozilla Firefox
5 use Internet Explorer
3 use Apple Safari
1 uses Google Chrome
1 uses Konqueror
0 use Opera

26??? Is that all?!

Just upgraded to Mozilla Firefox 3.7a1pre "Minefield"... so far it's stable, however if you are a stumbleupon user and you use the Firefox plugin, don't upgrade.

Every time there is a post, half a dozen mods read it, then everyone else who has posted reads it and ...
Read counts multiply exponentially.

18 use Mozilla Firefox
5 use Internet Explorer
3 use Apple Safari
1 uses Google Chrome
1 uses Konqueror
1 uses Opera

Unless there are others?

Unless there are others?

One person in this thread said He used Opera as a backup, I'd think that qualifies as a 1(see the link below).

I've been an Opera user for years, love it !! Use it on both Windows and Linux
Backup is Firefox (Win) and Konquerer (Linux), have Chrome installed but hardly ever use it and IE6 for when there is no other option.

New totals so far...
18 use Mozilla Firefox
5 use Internet Explorer
3 use Apple Safari
2 use Opera
1 uses Google Chrome
1 uses Konqueror

Looks like the overwhelming majority of SETI@home participants are Firefox users, I'm not suprised, as most people who tweak things don't use the "stock" option. :).

NOTE:For all Firefox Stumbleupon users with the SU plugin, 3.7a1pre now works with SU.

As I said, I'm using Opera too. Right now, for example. Still I use firefox more often (mostly because of AdBlock Plus I guess).
