I'm using Firefox for quite some time now. I like it very much, because I can customize it exactly for my needs (add ons). Unfortunatly, with rising popularity, it seems to become more and more unsecure. A few days ago Windows Update installed some obscure plug-ins without any notification and firefox doesn't even allow me to uninstall them. I don't like that. So at the moment I'm testing Opera to see if it has all the functions I need. If so, it may become my main browser in the future. |

I am using Firefox 3.6a2pre, which, for inscrutable reasons, calls itself Namoroka. This on SuSE Linux 11.1. The mplayerplug-in is connected to Mplayer and lets me see all NASA streamers, except the "Public" one, for which I use RealPlayer. I compiled myself both Mplayer and mplayerplug-in. Tullio |

FF 3.5.3 and IE7 if I need to get my MS updates. I love FF though it seems to have gotten a bit bloated over the years. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

As I run OS X, put me down for Safari. It works so I don't see much need to experiment with anything else. |

Well, on this 'puter I've got four installed. Safari 59%, Firefox 39%, Camino 1% and Netscape 1%. Keeps the cookies separated. One the other 'puter Firefox 99+% and ugh Exploder. Exploder is used only for windows update and no other place. Haven't had problems using FF to view video on the PC, but I do have some add ons to it. My thought is any place that won't serve me content for FF can ES&D. |

Firefox at home for those pages that will load correctly (some won't). IE8 for the others. At work it is all IE (several versions) as required by the work. BOINC WIKI |

Work and home, all comps are Firefox/3.5.3 On very rare occasion (a page that simply will not work on any non-MSIE browser) I will resort to using Microsoft Internet Exploder, but mostly I just decide that I didn't want to see that page that much after all. <html> <head> <title>Get Real!</title> <style type="text/css"> body div.all { display: none; } body div.getreal { display: block; } body > div.all { display: block; } body > div.getreal { display: none; } </style> </head> <body> <div class="getreal"> <p>Please get a real browser such as:</p> <ul> <li>Mozilla</li> <li>Netscape</li> </ul> </div> <div class="all"> <p>Here is the normal content of the web page.</p> </div> </body> </html> |

At home, running linux, I use Firefox regularly and Opera as a backup (has been useful once or twice when a Firefox add-on update had a problem.) Elsewhere I mainly use Firefox, and Internet Exploder as little as possible for a few dysfunctional pages which don't work with anything else and which I must nevertheless access occasionally. (My attitude to the pages would be the same for any which only worked in Firefox -- web pages should be written generically.) I try to test pages I am updating with every conveniently available browser. There are services which enable us to see the output on other browsers too, for example BrowserShots: as a result of which I know that my home page doesn't display very well with Dillo 2.1.1 / Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) - whatever that might be. |
