I do not have this xml file in any of the BOINC folders. How can I add cc_config.xml? |

Open notepad, copy&paste the lines from Ageless's post and save them as file cc_config.xml to the BOINC data directory. Make sure that no .txt suffix gets appended by notepad. I'm also getting this issue. Here's my (editted) log output with BOINC version 6.10.7 on Win XP after adding the debug flag in a cc_config.xml file. I'm using the Nvidia driver version 6.14.11.8120 - 181.20_quadro_winxp2k_international_whql.exe I'll install the new drivers and give it another go. 09/11/2009 17:19:13 Starting BOINC client version 6.10.17 for windows_intelx86 09/11/2009 17:19:13 log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task, coproc_debug 09/11/2009 17:19:13 Libraries: libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8k zlib/1.2.3 09/11/2009 17:19:13 Data directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC 09/11/2009 17:19:13 Running under account tim.hughes 09/11/2009 17:19:13 Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 10] 09/11/2009 17:19:13 Processor: 6.00 MB cache 09/11/2009 17:19:13 Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 mmx 09/11/2009 17:19:13 OS: Microsoft Windows XP: Professional x86 Edition, Service Pack 3, (05.01.2600.00) 09/11/2009 17:19:13 Memory: 3.48 GB physical, 5.32 GB virtual 09/11/2009 17:19:13 Disk: 232.88 GB total, 127.29 GB free 09/11/2009 17:19:13 Local time is UTC +0 hours 09/11/2009 17:19:14 cuDriverGetVersion() missing from NVIDIA library 09/11/2009 17:19:14 No ATI library found. 09/11/2009 17:19:14 No usable GPUs found ... 09/11/2009 17:19:14 SETI@home Restarting task 03ap07aa.31857.6616.13.10.122_0 using setiathome_enhanced version 603 |

All right. The new Nvidia API that BOINC 6.10 uses has a minimum driver set of CUDA 2.2, 185.85. If your present drivers are below this version, update first. If your present drivers are below this and they're the last available for your hardware, you cannot update to 6.10; stay at the last 6.6.x version for your OS. Spread the word. |

Just to confirm that the latest nvidia driver (version 191.00) fixed it for me on Win XP. Thanks, Tim |

Just a note, but I am running the latest 6.10.17, Win7, and as long as I do not install it as Protection application execution, it is recognizing the GPU, if I install and select Protection application execution mode, I end up with the "No CUDA capable GPUs found." For me, the solution was NOT TO use Protection application execution mode and the GPU is there all the time. In my WinXP workstation(s), either mode works just fine. |

Did you even read this thread? I explained in this post in this thread why that is. |

By default, the later BOINC versions will not install as a service (the protected application execution option), at least for the Windows x64 applications. The user must override the default installation to install BOINC as a service - DON'T DO THIS! Windows 7 x64 AMD Phenom II 940 processor (two) EVGA GTX 280 graphics cards |
