Ok we search for triplets. What about quadruplets? I appreciate this may require going over old units... Maybe triplets are too common, or is having just 3 in a workunit enough of an improbability to warranty the choice of triplets? What's the probability of 4 numbers the same occurring on any large (?) sequence?... Sunday morning ponderings. Happy UT-time England. |

Ok we search for triplets. What about quadruplets? I appreciate this may require going over old units... No need to redo the data... A quadruplet is 2 triplets. I don't know if the s@h analysis of the science database makes any special distinction for them. Sunday morning ponderings. Happy UT-time England. Keep pondering, there's always more to find! Surely 2 triplets is a hextuplet... I meant 4 consec signals... |

4 is still counted as 2 triplets. take results A,B,C,D Seti counts ABC as one triplet and BCD as the second. There is specific reasons why Seti looks for t o only look for triplets and not beyond that. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Surely 2 triplets is a hextuplet... I meant 4 consec signals... Sorry, was a little too brief, as Skildude has explained, does this make better sense? "No need to redo the data... A quadruplet is already seen by s@h as 2 triplets." Now, (part or all of?) the s@h analysis assumes and requires that Arecibo is slowly sweeping the sky. Which are the optimum ARs for the s@h search?
