Message 942051 - Posted: 22 Oct 2009, 23:33:21 UTC

I have been processing Wu's since 23jun2005, using BonicLogX & Seti@Home Map View. Both will not work with Boinc Msgr now. I get a message [Connection to Client Lost. I know my firewall is not blocking any Boinc software. What is going on?

Make sure that the software is either installed in or points to your BOINC Data directory (where client_state.xml can be found).

Make sure that the software is either installed in or points to your BOINC Data directory (where client_state.xml can be found).

The DATA directory path can be found in the first few messages after a restart of the BOINC daemon. Note that there is by default a hidden directory in the path.

Message 942071 - Posted: 23 Oct 2009, 0:21:38 UTC - in response to Message 942056.

I reinstalled the latest Boinc V6.6.38. I still can not find any data path to the Project Seti@Home where the client state.xml is located. When I open up the Boinc Folder with Windows Explorer, I don't see any data files or the project Seti@Home.
Please advise.Thanks Steve

Look in the messages tab immediately after a reboot.

Since your computers are hidden, we cannot look to see what OS you are running as it makes a difference to where the data dir actually is.

Thanks
I did not know to reboot my cmptr to see the correct msg's. Looks like my Add on software is back in operation after I directed it to the right path. Waiting on a new update task from Boinc to see if everything works. Thanks again.

You don't need to reboot.

BOINC Manager->Advanced view->File->Exit, or right-clicking on the BOINC icon in the system tray->Exit, then checking the "Stop running science applications when exiting the Manager" option and clicking OK will exit BOINC.

To restart it, go Start->Programs->BOINC->BOINC Manager.
