When we say we’re the friendliest place in sci-fi, we mean it. We’re a bunch of lay-abouts and rebels, outside of continents and beyond countries, young and old, female and male, teachers and students, writers and readers, philosophers and skeptics, and we have one thing in common: we’re interested.

We’re interested in television shows, movies, comics, novels and music. We’re interested in each other. We like to chat about just about any topic, we’ll listen and give informed feedback, and at the end of the day we think of GWC as a clubhouse for a (very large) group of friends.

You are welcome here. Everyone is. www.galacticwatercooler.com

We have been discussing Carl Sagan's Cosmos. Swing by the forums if you want to join the discussion and download the podcasts (189, 190 and 191). We had a great interview with Eric Korpela and are hoping to schedule other luminaries in the field.

Looking for a new home? Feel free to join us. Interested in Sci-fi and fantasy but wed to your group? No worries. Swing by our forums and say hi, or simply grab the latest podcast or one on a subject that interests you.

Thank you in advance.

I just noticed a news item on the front page of the Seti site giving props to Galactic Watercooler!

"October 19, 2009
SETI@home Project Scientist Eric Korpela discusses life in the universe in Galactic Watercooler Podcast #190. This is one episode in an arc relating to the late Carl Sagan's Cosmos series. "

I saw that too. The interview on the podcast was great! Many thanks to Eric for taking time out of his busy schedule to do the interview with Chuck.
The cosmos is also within us, we're made of star stuff. Carl Sagan - Cosmos(1980)

Some quick updates: Team Galactic Watercooler is tearing up the charts! In less than four weeks we are in the top percentage of nearly off categories (total credit, average daily credit, number of members)

We would love for you to join our merry band of unrepentant geeks. We have a great time, have a weekly science fiction podcast and a dedicated community who are always looking for new people to swing by. Even if you are committed to another team here come check us out. Who knows, you might just find yourself at home.

Take care all.

In two months we have gone from 1 to 80 members around the globe racking up 2 million credits?

Do you know who captained Serenity? Have you ever debated which Battlestar Galactica was better? This is place to be!
