You can use the button "Your results" to find your online task list (advanced view of BOINC manager, Tasks tab or Projects tab). The task you've just finished seems to not be reported yet. So, you have to wait until BOINC asks for new work before you'll see the "Completed,..." status on that list. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Welcome Antonis, When finished, the BOINC manager sends the work unit back to the SETI server. Click the Messages button in the Simple Viewer or the Messages tab in the Advanced viewer to see the commentary... |

If the WU is uploaded, you can't find it on your PC any longer. You'd have to disable Network access (Activity menu) and look for the result file in the appropriate slot directory beneath your BOINC data directory, as specified in the Messages tab after a restart. After finishing... is the workunit stored-saved in my pc?? I lookeed evrywhre but nothing ... how can i find the directory?? i know newbee question but please help.. thank you If you want to know how to keep the results on your computer look here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=55127&nowrap=true#927634 This is my post explaining how to use BoincLogX & SetiMapView. You can find both programs here: http://www.bjoernhenke.de/frame.htm?/boinclogx/index.en.htm P.S. You are using Vista - I will recommend to install NOT in C:\Program Files (write-protected in Vista) Install in e.g.: C:\BoincLogX In this case the logs will be in: C:\BoincLogX\logs  - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)  |

the radio frequency used for Seti isnt meant to be listened to. I dont know if its possible to turn the signals found on it into sound In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

C:\ProgramData\BOINC in slots.... i just will wait till it ends i am at 80% I see you are new here and (Sorry) you don't know what you are doing. 1 - there is NO workunit in the slot ... - the WUs are in C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\setiathome.berkeley.edu\ ... but if you want to play with them COPY them to new empty folder and play there 2 - If you "wait till it ends" you will lose it on your computer ... - the result will be uploaded, reported and workunit DELETED from your computer ... UNLESS you install BoincLogX 3 - The "sound" program wu2wav is VERY old (2000 year) and can't work on today WU file format ... - it was designed for SETI Classic which don't exist anymore! ... how will you know if you find something if it is deleted..? After reporting you can look (for a short time - day or days) the info about your results here: look at ACCOUNT > Computers on this account > Tasks But if you use BoincLogX & SetiMapView the results will be kept on your computer and you can see them on the picture of night sky ... ( Anyway the results from any single WU don't mean much On the HOME page look Science status - there are almost 3 000 000 000 "signals" found so far: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sci_status.html ) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

I don't know enough about this stuff to tell if it is a false positive, however, when the AV program says to stop, I stop... |

Hi, McAfee AV, gives no warning, when scanning the executable! Hi Fred, I didn't even make it into the page! It warned me before it opened the web page. Maybe the avast! virus guys in Prague are too conservative or the McAfee team is too liberal ;-) |

Hi, McAfee AV, gives no warning, when scanning the executable! NOD32 v2.70.39 - no warning for site or wu2wav.exe (wu2wav.exe is simple command line executable - not sfx archive) (NOD32 - made in Slovakia | AVG & Avast - Czech republic - so at least 3 AV from former CzechoSlovakia ;) ) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Yes i am new.. before some years this has worked.. then is pointless now... how will you know if you find something if it is deleted..? Each WU has one representative result that is stored permanently in the Master Science Database. There is a file that associates the users that crunched each result with the WU in the Master Science DB. To validate that the signal is real, it has to repeat on separate nights, so just finding one does not make it a real signal. When one is found, S@H admins have promised to let all people that have crunched any of the WUs used to verify the signal that theirs was the hit. So, to be informed, keep your email in your account up to date. BOINC WIKI |
