I have two O/Ss installed on one computer, one for a Core 2 Duo and one for a Core 2 Quad. The latter had Boinc Ver 6.6.36 installed, and I installed Ver 6.6.38 on the former. I switched CPUs to the Core 2 Quad, and booted into its O/S. There is only one Boinc installed, and that Boinc noticed a version change from 6.6.36 to 38. It then ran the benchmarks thrice (3 times) and aborted 301 workunits with the following message repeated 52 times:
"15-Oct-2009 08:36:10 [SETI@home] [error] No app version for result: windows_intelx86 528."

Here is the message it repeated 301 times, albeit with different WU names:
"15-Oct-2009 08:36:10 [SETI@home] [sched_op_debug] handle_scheduler_reply(): got ack for result 12au09aa.13556.7434.14.10.90_0"

If you are going to abort 301 WUs, could you possibly give us a clue as to why, so we could not do that again.

I think a quick solution is shutdown boinc, then reinstall teh optimized apps from the unified installer. AFAIK the Lunatics site is down temporarily but Arkayn has the unified installler on his download site.
