A reliable, online backup mechanism (binary) for a production database should be mandatory. Maybe MySQL 6.0? Or a commercial product?

I checked the price: $1000 for a non-expiring license. It's quite possible that because SETI is a university non-profit research project, special discounts may apply. It's definitely its own donation challenge if you guys really want it... Otherwise, as they say, not in the cards.
