I have several 2x dual core opteron servers and noticed they were running an old boinc (6.4.5) and old apps (seti 5.28), so i upgraded boinc on one machine to the boinc_6.10.6_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu. before upgrading i had my server finish all the wu it had and then i reset the project still keeping wont get new tasks flagged. i then quit boinc, deleted everything not needed to 'start fresh' after a project has been joined, and it *still* insisted in getting 5.28 instead of 6.03! anything i need to do or is this normal behavior for this type arch? my intel quad gets 6.03 by default just fine. |

The only difference between SETI v5.28 and v6.03 is that 603 had the graphics moved into a separate application so as to be compatible with BOINC v6.x series (which in turn was required to be compatible with Vista/7). According to this page, v5.28 is the latest for your OS. |

As best as I can see, your Core2 Quad is using an optimized application which uses an app_info.xml file to specify what stock-level application it's compatible with. You probably have 6.03 referenced in your app_info.xml file for the Core2 Quad but only 5.28 referenced for your other machine (if it's using optimized apps). |
