Windows 7 and 2 GTX 295

Fred I have had this problem with my Vista x64 and 2 times GTX 295's.
I spoke to you before about it.
I have read the cuda forum on the Nvidia site and have edited the registy,
so now at least I have 3 times Cuda running without the need for a dummy plug.
Thats a bonus.
If I run the cards with SLI enabled Boinc sees 4 GPU's but as you say runs slow.
With SLI disabled 3 GPU's are seen and they work fine.
This problem is definitly driver based,and the bofins that write the drivers should have got it sussed by now.
If like me users have bought very expensive GTX295's expecting them to crunch work for Boinc when not used for other work during the day.
They might have sent them back to the place of purchace thinking that they were faulty.

Heya Five,

After a recent upgrade from 190 to 191 on the drivers, I lost the fourth GPU. I spent about and hour swapping all of the video cables around till I got it to show 4 again.

I eventually had to reboot each time I changed monitor configurations. I was just swaping cables, and sometimes I would see the change and other times I wouldn't. So I finally just gave up and rebooted each time. So, using both HDMIs and the TOP DVI on the first card and the SECOND DVI on the second card, it now shows 4 GPUs in SETI.

Not sure if this helps you at all.

A while back, Mahoney said he knew of someone at Nvidia that was working on a driver that did not require monitor detection to allow the use of all GPUs. Not sure where that went cause several drivers versions ahve come and gone since then and obviously nothing has changed in that respect.
