No news about Pending Credit. Hell, there hasn't even been any official news about Results being turned on.

They're probably only on for testing purposes, maybe to see how slow the database processes get.

Who knows, maybe the pending credit pages will be re-enabled soon. :)

Heck,

Guys,

All that gives you is a list of the WU that are in the pending state and the total of the credit you claimed... since that is never accurate ... it should be a large case of who the heck cares ...

What I would prefer to see is a count of the WU pending, possibly grouped by date, with a total of the number pending, and possibly with a total of the credit claimed. Though I would say that this is one thing that is very meaningless ... since we won't get our claim, but would be getting some other number it is like ... who cares?

By the way, this shift in emphasis, should be a small impact on the db in that the values could be kept in another pending table off-loading results ... or as a simple count, would be an attribute in the participant (user) table ...

Not true ...

I told my wife many times ... all she has to do is win $1.5 Million (net) and I will be perfectly content ...

The only reason I care it it'll cut down on the number of posts "when will pending credit be re-enabled?".

This wouldn't change the database impact from the current view of pending credit. The work unit table would still be scanned to count the number of work units marked as pending.

Content. I get more love out of my dog....

Seriously,

The current level of dropped wu's and bad uploads and such that
the results are only good for returned compleated WuWus,

It's going to be awile before rusults mean anything.

There hasn't been anything official about changing to BOINC v 4.12 either... Sometimes they forget the simplest but most important things.....

The Boinc client will tell you when there is another version available, so they really don't need to tell you and new comers will get the most recent version from the download page as well.

98SE XP2500+ @ 2.1 GHz Boinc v5.8.8

And God said"Let there be light."But then the program crashed because he was trying to access the 'light' property of a NULL universe pointer.

Nope ...

As each WU comes in and the transitioner bumps it along the way, it would either be also updating the second table as it is managing "Results" or the "User" (participant) table.

In essance, this becomes a "scratch-pad" value that is managed independently of the "Results" table. The whole idea is to off load the hits on that table. Though with all the moving around it may be that we have this problem somewhat under control now. I am just musing about how we might create the basic concept with modified structures to achieve the same end result.

The amount of credit can be considered an attribute of the person rather than the summation of their results ... database design-speak meaning that we put the values elsewhere ...

You appear to be under the misconception that when she wins it, she will willingly share it with you...

You forget that "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" and once she's got those, she can always "rent" someone to polish them for her... ;o)

Stewie: So, is there any tread left on the tires? Or at this point would it be like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?

Well, if history is any guide ... she will ...

Some time ago I bought her a 2 1/2 (or was it 3 1/2?) solitare ... She says she does not need any more ...

Also, she is usually the one that comes up with the spare cash if I over-spend on my latest computer buy ... I am trying to cut back to only one major new one every 2 years ... though I did get sucked in with Fry's when they offered 3.2 HT P-4s (1M Cache) for $300 each ... heck when I looked at the street prices for the processors the lowest I found was $325 ...
