I recently upgraded one of my servers from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2008 R2. The merge function will not work for these two entries, because it says the operating system is incompatible:

Host 4771271 has incompatible OS: (, Microsoft Windows Server "Longhorn")

Is there any way to fix this? I'm not sure why Server 08 decided to call itself by it's Beta name, but just wondering if a manual merge were possible (either on my end or on Seti's end.)

Thanks.

That's your BOINC version that did that. I see you also changed BOINC versions, from 5.10.30 (for the Longhorn mention) to 5.10.45 (for the Enterprise version mention).

A way around it is to reinstall BOINC 5.10.30, have it contact Seti and hope it doesn't make yet another hostID. Then merge the two versions saying "Longhorn", before updating BOINC to the newer version.

If that doesn't fix it, or it is too much work for you, then your only option is to wait for the tasks showing in the Longhorn version to disappear from the list (once they're purged by the database) and delete that computer from your list.

Or wait long enough (in my guess another 3 days), for it to disappear from your "active in the past 30 days" list, then only showing up when you click the "show all computers" link.

Yeah, I guess my hope was just to merge the two for total credit reasons. It's not really necessary, just nice to have the all of the machine's total credit in one place.

It's chugging along nicely now, so I probably won't disturb it to try your first suggestion. I was mainly hoping for a fix or change in the webcode to overlook the "Longhorn" option and just merge them since everything else is obviously identical.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
