I'm going to upgrade to Snow Leopard in the next little bit and was wondering if I was going to need to re-install/update my BOINC and/or Seti software.

I figured there might be a sticky here or at least some questions...

I did a search and see it sprinkled throughout several different threads and not really addressed. So I thought I would ask specifically...

Does BOINC work with Snow Leopard?

I don't know, but a few issues have been posted in this section. If running SETI is important to you, I suggest you wait a little before installing or use another disk (external or a partition) and do a test install before committing. I did this with Leopard and it took a couple of updates before the bugs were worked out to the point where I trusted it.

You will need to reinstall BOINC after updating to Snow Leopard.
The screen savers won't work in BOINC up to version 6.6.x; a fix for that is underway in BOINC 6.10.

I upgraded 2/3 of my Macs to Snow Leopard, leaving one running Leopard. AFAICT, I'm completing work units & getting credit for them on the upgraded hosts (all graphs on BOINCstats are consistent before/after the upgrade--can't tell at all by looking at them when I upgraded); however, the Snow Leopard systems spew a ton of

ps: rsz: keyword not found

messages on the termminal (I'm running the CLI version directly from the command line). Poking around a little shows that Apple has modified the /bin/ps command slightly, changing the resident set size column from "rsz" to "rss".

Again, it doesn't seem to prevent WUs from processing. I'm guessing it's part of how the processor checks to make sure it's not overstepping its memory allotment set in the preferences. It likely slows down processing a tad, though :^(
