Edit: the oddest thing is the 25.89 came in on Sept 30 but then got 43.39 |

If min_quorum = 2, normally 2 results is used then validated, and in this case the smallest of the 2 claimed credits decides the crediting. LHC is using min_quorum = 2. If min_quorum = 3 or higher, atleast 3 results is used then validated. In this instance the highest & lowest claimed is discarded, and the rest is averaged. Seti@home is using min_quorum = 3, so normally the middle is avarded. But if one user misses his deadline but returns a little later, a new "result" was immediately generated then passed the deadline and sent out. With backlogged or offline Validator it's therefore possible 4 or more results is waiting for validation, and you'll get the average after highest & lowest is discarded. |

Here is an interesting WU result. It ended up being sent to 7 machines. The first 3 times no systems returned any results, then it had to be sent out again after the deadline passed...and one of those 2nd stage machines had download errors..so yet another. http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/workunit.php?wuid=1683161 |
