Why is it that BOINC 6.6.36 reports that CUDA app is using 0.04 CPU but Task manager reports useage of 25% of my quad core Q6600 CPU which is one full core.
The other projects running on the CPU are having to back off to let the SETI GPU app use a full core.

what version of cuda toolkit are you running and which driver? this is a known problem for cuda 2.1.

I aborted the WU and the next one did the same thing but after i aborted the second WU the third WU appears to be working as it should is this "bug" specific to SETI. never noticed this on GPUGRID.

What has happened is that Boinc has preempted a Cuda WU that had only just started (because of deadline issues),
the WU that starts next, then goes into CPU fallback mode because of lack of GPU memory,
all because Boinc hadn't closed down the preempted WU, and so hasn't freed up the GPU memory,
if you restart Boinc 6.6.36, the WU's will start using Cuda again,
until the next time.
Boinc 6.6.37 fixes this issue, which you can get from here
