I am putting in a new HD. Can I install SETI and then copy the necessary files from the old drive? Current status of SETI is completed running a batch and uploaded. I set it not to download any more until I have the new one up and running. |

I am putting in a new HD. Can I install SETI and then copy the necessary files from the old drive? The simplest and best procedure is to first copy the Boinc Data folder to the new drive. Install the same or newer version of Boinc making sure you are pointing to the Data folder location when installing. Boinc V7.2.42 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB, GTX470 |

I am putting in a new HD. Can I install SETI and then copy the necessary files from the old drive? Make certain it is the DATA directory. The data directory will include client_state.xml, and at least one account_*.xml file (as well as a long list of other files). If you have not found these files, you have not found the data directory. Note that windows hides one of the directories in the path to the default data directory. BOINC WIKI |
