When running BOINC on my system, in the message area when the manager starts, this text is listed..

CUDA DEVICE: GeForce GTX 260 (driver version 19038, compute capability 1.3, 896MB, est. 79GFLOPS)

Previously, the manager has reported "est. 85GFLOPS"

I have installed the Optimized Seti@Home software, for both the CPU and the GPU. However, the manager still reported 85GFLOPS previously, with them installed.

I can't imagine that I am starting to have hardware problems already - this rig is just over 3 months old.

System in Question :

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you been testing overclocking of the graphics card using Rivatuner or EVGA Precision or similar? Check the clock rates using GPU-Z; it looks as though they have been turned down somehow.

I have an Alienware machine, and purchased Alien Adrenaline. It allows you to overclock the video card.

I use it very rarely, and never with Seti@Home running - simply because I don't want to overheat the video card.

I don't know what happened - I have since rebooted the machine, re-run the manager, and it is now reporting 85 GFLOPS again.

Thank you for your response.

Y have a GTX260 and the specifications are:
BandWith-> 126.GB/s
Pixel Fillrate -> 20.4 GPixel/s
Texture Fillrate -> 46.7 GTexel/s
GPUClock -> 730 MHZ
Memory -> 1130 MHZ
Shader -> 1574 MHZ

CUDA device: GeForce GTX 260 (driver version 17828, CUDA version 1.3, 896 MB, est. 121 GFLOPS)

Search in Google the string "Fernandos_XP_32bit_NF4-7_Performance_Pack_v5.8" y find the optimized driver version.
Install nvidia video driver 178.28

Cheers
